Chandigarh (February 2, 2021): The artistes from Theater Arts Chandigarh staged Hindi play ‘Jab Jago Tabhi Savera’ on the second day of Bharat Muni Natya Mahotsav at Tagore Theatre on Tuesday. The festival has been organised by North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt of India) in association with Sanskar Bharti, Chandigarh.
The play is a comic satire on the godmen. Written and directed by Rajiv Mehta, the act laid focus on insecurities and difficulties faced by the common man that lead to falling prey to the so called Godmen who rob their hard-earned money. The play gives a loud message that instead of going to these Babas, we should always believe in our hard work and commitment to our family and nation. The duration of the play is one hour and fifteen minutes.
Actors Yogesh Arora, Yogesh Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Rajeev Mehta, Satpal Singh, Ramesh Bhardwaj, Malkit Singh, Amit Kumar, Munish Kapoor, Adh Shakti, Balochan Malik, Preeti Tara Suhag, Asha Sakalani, Dinesh Sharma, Ranjit Pannu and Pranav played their parts aptly. The play set was designed by Amit Kumar and Malkit Singh, Amit Kumar on music, Chetan and Amit on lights gave perfect contribution. Yogesh Arora sang the background score.
Theatre Arts Chandigarh was formed in the year 1999 and has been presenting theatre productions in India. Five artists of the group including the director has been honoured by the Chandigarh Administration and various other Theatre Organizations of India and the World. The Group has staged more than one hundred plays with about two thousands shows all over the world. Productions like Shree Krishana Leela, Shree Ram Leela, Satgur Nanak Pargataya, Banda Singh Bahadar, Samjota Express -A Train To Pakistan, Shaheed Bhagat Singh ki Waapsi, are quite popular.
Sh. Arun Gupta, Managing Director, Kumar Soaps and Chemicals Limited, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest. President, Sanskar Bharti Chandigarh, Sh. Mukesh Sharma was also present on this occasion.
The five-day festival will go on till Friday and will provide a platform to the theatre groups of the city. Adhyaay Cultural and Welfare Society will present Hindi play ‘Mom Ke Rishte’ on Wednesday.
