11 Oct : He has just made a remarkable comeback to the small screen, after a three year hiatus, as the host of the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 3’.
On the film front too, Superstar of the Millennium Amitabh Bachchan is active as never before with films like ‘Aladin’, ‘Teen Patti’ and ‘Paa’ featuring him in roles each of which are diverse from one another.
At a time when his contemporaries like Vinod Khanna and Shatrughan Sinha have gone into semi retirement, Big B, Amitabh, who celebrates his 67th birthday on Sunday, is still raring to go.
Amitabh, who this year completes four decades in the film industry, is among the rare actors who have roles written especially with him in mind even at this age.
For example his forthcoming film ‘Paa’, which features him alongside his son Abhishek and Vidya Balan, features him in the role of a child suffering from progeria, which causes premature ageing.
Then ‘Teen Patti’ with Leena Yadav has him playing a mathematical genius. Incidentally, ‘Teen Patti’ also stars Hollywood legend Ben Kingsley.’Aladin’, another film featuring the superstar, will see him play a ‘modern genie’.Age may have withered away many actors, but Amitabh continues to reinvent himself with age.
If his silver screen appearances see him continue with the same vigour, his comeback to the small screen has been as striking as talked about.
By roping the megastar as ‘Pop Philosopher’, a person who will decode the various emotions experienced by the inmates of the Bigg Boss house, the general entertainment Colours is hoping to boost its TRPs ratings and race miles ahead of its competitors on the General entertainment scene.
It seems, life for this Superstar has just begun!
