By Dharam Pal : Benaras Mediaworks’ Zid produced by Anubhav Sinha and Mushtaq Sheikh is scheduled to hit theatres this November ,however,the makers recently found themselves in a fix as the first poster of the erotic psychological thriller was put on hold by exhibitors and theatre chains given its controversial nature.
When contacted said Mr.Inder Raj Kapoor , All India theatrical distributor, “Yes it is true…some publicity material has been returned because we found it bold and we feared it could be controversial. We have spoken with the producers and explained our doubts. I am sure this will get sorted”.
The poster that has raised several eyebrows, was put on hold by theatre chains especially during the Diwali season as they felt it was not family-audience friendly.However,now that the extended weekend has come to an end ,the distributors and theatre heads have accepted the posters which will soon be put up on their respective chains.
Confirms an inside source, “Yes, the makers had faced a tough time convincing theatre chains to carry the posters during the Diwali festivities due to its controversial nature.However, they have finally agreed to now”.
The film directed by Vivek Agnihotri, introduces Mannara and also stars Karanvir Sharma in leading roles.
