Trust Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs to come up with tricks which can make even a super stud Salman Khan jump up with joy like a li’l kid. Barnali Hota from Orissa mesmerized Salman with her soulful rendition of 80’s chart topper ‘ dil dewaana bin sajna ke’ from the movie Maine pyaar kiya . Before the start of her performance, Barnali told Salman that every year on 27th December, she cuts a small cake and wishes her favourite actor Salman Khan, Happy Birthday. Barnali not only had Salman smile ear to ear but also roll in laughter upon seeing an old footage of his from the movie.
Salman went red in the face and laughed like a kid when he was shown the portion of the original song where he prances around Bhagyashree like a baby horse. Salman being a big sport went on stage, tied a red bandana over his forehead and broke into an impromptu jig making all around rock with laughter and glee. “If you think I was funny, then you should not miss Bhagyashree’s steps which definitely gave my dance steps a run for their money,” said Salman with a huge smile on his face.Barnali asked the macho Bodyguard, “Was there any change in your life after Maine Pyaar Kiya?” An overwhelmed Salman said, “You just took me back to an era 22-24 years back with this song… After the release of the movie main pagal ho gaya aur aaj bhi pagal hun… This made me a star, a household name and thus began my journey as an actor which helped me gain fame, money and popularity. I still remember the day we went to Ooty Boat Club and did not shoot the whole day as the entire unit was having so much fun till Sooraj Ji (Barjatya) very politely requested us to start the shoot for the song.”
He even reprimanded the stern Guru’s – Adnan Sami, Javed Ali and Kailash Kher – of the show when they tried to find fault with Barnali’s performance and thundered, “How can you compare a 11 year old kid to Lata Didi?” It surely sent shivers down the spines of our mentors!
Salman Khan was on the sets of Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs to promote his upcoming Eid release ‘Bodyguard’. Salman considers himself to be the lucky charm in Zee TV’s reality shows and so he keeps coming back to the sets. This is Salman’s eighth appearance on a Zee TV reality show as he believes every appearance on a Zee TV show has brought him luck and all his movies promoted on the channel have broken records in the box office.
Ashish Golwalkar says, “It’s always a delight when Salman is on the sets. We are sure to have fun when Salman is around.” It’s Salman’s seventh appearance on Zee TV and each one has been memorable with either a quote or a performance from Sallu Bhai. Salman is treated more like a family member than a celebrity when he is on the sets.
