Bengaluru : Indian King of Pop Daler Mehndi announced that his tryst with the Kannada film Industry will continue and that its only going to get bigger. The Bhangra King who had enthralled Kannada music lovers last year with the super hit track “Namo Bhootatma” will showcase his musical prowess as a Music Director for a new Musical Film hitting the floors this year, to be released in 2016.
Produced by American Business Tycoon, Mr. Shalabh Kumar of the AVG Group who is extremely passionate about Dancing and A Manjunath as the co- producer, the bi- lingual film will be directed by Sandalwood choreographer-turned-director Imran Sardaria.
The film has a dancer as the main protagonist and interestingly all the actors, cast will be selected through a competition on a dance reality show. He and other producers are contemplating over making the film in Hindi as well but we would surely let you know as soon as there is any confirmation.
The movie has been scripted by Janardhan Maharshi and music will be composed by Harikrishna. But since its Daler Mehndi who is a part of this project, he will play a major role in bringing out the music and will also compose a few songs in the film.
Upon asking what’s with his Southern connect since over the last five years Daler has been churning super duper hit songs for Telugu, Tamil, Kannada audiences. Daler answered that he has a strong connect with Southern India because of his Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji who chose one of His Beloved’s/ Pyara from Bidar, Pyara Bhai Sahib Chand, a barbar offered his head to Guru Sahab on the auspicious day of Baisakhi in 1669, when Guru Sahab was creating the “Khalsa” – the saint soldier army of truth led fearless souls.
Daler quips, “This is just the beginning, there’s a long way to go and an Artist must continuously reinvent himself .”
