18 Dec : Award-winning and critically acclaimed films from around the world will now be available at your doorstep with the launch of home DVDs collection of world cinema by an entertainment company.
Shemaroo Entertainment recently launched its sub-brand World Cinema label for movie lovers bringing them a collection of more than 100 award winnning world cinema titles. These
titles include films from Germany, Russia, Japan, Spain, France among others with sub-titles in Hindi and English.The first three films that were launched recently are ‘Downfall’, ‘All About My Mother’ and ‘Amen’.
Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel’ Downfall’ depicts the last ten days of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi regime are seen through the eyes of a young woman. ‘Amen’ has been directed by
Costa Gavras and Spanish film ‘All About My Mother’, a film about the bond of a single mother and her son, has been directed by Pedro Almodovar.
The other titles are – The Sea Inside (Spanish); Jean De Florette (French), L’amant French), Audition (Japanese);
Rashomon (Japanese), Germinal (French) and L’ Homme Du Train (French) among many others.
Shemaroo has also tied up with Bollywood film director Subhash Ghai’s media school Whistling Woods International.
The DVDs will be in the respective original language with English and Hindi subtitles priced at Rs 349 each.
