Bhopal. The country’s first and unique Sanskrit Band Dhruvaa’s presentation will be held at Ravindra Bhavan on October 15. The band has compositions of music blended with Shlokas from Rigveda, Mantras of mythological texts and western music. The uniqueness of the band is that it presents only in Sanskrit. The band is ready to spellbound audience with its presentation at 6 pm in the Alumni Meet of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication at Muktakash Manch of Ravindra Bhavan. Sanskrit scholar and practitioner of classical music, Dr Sanjay Dwivedi, who formed the band, said he had held several shows so far in the country. The band is the first Sanskrit Band in the world. The aim of formation of the band is to make Sanskrit popular. All members of the band practice for four hours daily. The Dhruvaa band has prepared specially for the university’s event. The programme is open for common people.
What is unique in band’s presentation: Synchronized harmonious hymns and Shlokas blended with western music connect directly to soul of audience. It makes its compositions on hymns, mantras of Rigveda, Shlokas of Bhaj Govindam, and rhythmic mantras of Shiv Tandav, Geet Govindam of Jaidev, mantras and Shlokas from Abhigyana Shakuntalam. The band also creates its own compositions on poems and proses. Many of its compositions have gone viral on social media.
