BY MOHD MAJID MALIK , BHADERWAH,JUN 04—Indian Idol, the popular singing competition which produced Abhijeet Sawant, Sandeep Acharya, Prashant Tamang and Sourabhee Debbarma in its last four seasons, is all set to change the focus in its 6th season so much so that even a poor girl namely Indu Bala from remote village Hunga Bhaderwah with a superior playback voice can win the competition. In fact, this time all three judges Sunidhi Chauhan, Anu Malik and Salim Merchant have decided to focus on the singing factor that may help the winners in getting some playback singing work in bollywood rather than depending on individual albums.
The sincerity of judges and a completely new approach for the selection of Indian Idol may be gauzed from the fact that a poor Bhaderwah based girl with superior voice has already been selected to take part in the competition. And this was done only on the basis of her voice, disregarding her personality and grooming etc people of Bhaderwah said .Sunidhi goes to the extent of saying that the judges are going to support this girl till the very end of the competition. The whole emphasis of the competition will be on the voice of candidates which should be able to sing a Ghazal with equal facility as a rock number. In the earlier seasons of Indian Idol, the candidates would be groomed thoroughly before being able to win.
One of the important selection criteria was to look for the complete package from looks to star quality and X factor. However, this time all these won’t matter much and ordinary public can also hope to compete in the completion.Local people of Bhaderwah has also congrats to indu Bala, the young girl from bhaderwah for making it to INDIAN IDOL finals and added that the immense talent that our youth have , does get noticed in these flashes of brilliance. It is notable to mention here that Indu Bala is first girl from erstwhile Doda district which got selected for Indian Idol .
