As a mark of respect to Dr. Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan and to maintain Guru Shishya Parampara alive, September 03, 2011 was celebrated as ‘Teachers’ Day’ by KBDAV-7, Chandigarh in a unique manner at Tagore Theatre, Sector-18, Chandigarh. Keeping the tradition of the school intact, all Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members showcased their theme-based, value-oriented cultural performances for the school children, which were choreographed in an exceptional manner.
To grace the occasion, eminent dignitaries from respective fields were present. Hon’ble Shri Rao Dan Singh, Parliamentary Secretary and MLA Mahendergardh, Haryana was the Chief Guest of the grand show. Mrs. Rani Sharma, Chairperson of Indian Council of Social Welfare, Chandigarh, Vice-President of Haryana State Council for Child Welfare was the Special Guest of Honour and Justice A.L. Bahri, Vice President, DAV CMC presided over the function. Other dignitaries like Mr. Subhash Marriya, Manager of the school & Regional Director, Mrs. Kavita Marriya, Mr. Sanjay Sardana, Director Manav Mangal Smart School, Mr. Vikas Chatrath, Mr. Parmod Sharma from Yuvsatta, Mrs. Satinder Dhillon, Principal, Divya Shiksha Gurukul College of Education, Derabassi and Principals of different DAV institutions of Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, other region and state were present to grace the occasion.The grand show started with lighting of lamp by the dignitaries followed by prayer “Dard Mein Bhi Muskurana” by the Principal and Staff that touched the souls of audience.
The four houses Jasmine, Lotus, Rose and Tulip stood under tough competition to exhibit their theme based performances for the students which were indeed enjoyed by all. The teachers tapped their feet on peppy beats contemporary and old popular melodies to usher in teachers’ day and brought forth important messages.
The Jasmine House presented an item showcasing ‘Stages of Human Life’ from cradle to old age. They also showed how life was started on this earth till end of human life.
The Rose House showed “Unity in Diversity” through melodious dance forms depicting different states from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari.
The Lotus House dramatized on current issue of “Corruption”. The teachers highlighted the current state of India, how it is surrounded by negative and outside forces making India internally weak. But with strong conviction and will power of people, through the item it was depicted India can once again be the Strong Nation.
The Tulip House presented colourful show “Yeh Zindagi Na Milegi Dubara” – showing bent of mind of youth these days, but with good moral education they can be brought to right path .
The Lotus House was adjudged as the 1st Best House by the member of jury for their excellent performance depicting the current issue of “Corruption” in a beautiful manner. They were awarded with a big Golden Trophy. Rose House was declared as a 2nd Best House and were awarded trophy for that. Jasmine House was declared as the 3rd Best House and was awarded with a trophy. Consolation prize was given to the Tulip House.
As per the tradition of the school, Principal announced five best teachers of the year 2010-11, who were honoured with Shawl and flowers by the august hands of Chief Guest and the guest of honour. Five teachers teaching ‘Saral Ahsaas – the underprivileged school’ were honoured for their selfless services.

Chief Guest of the day, Sheri Rae Dan Singh addressed the staff members and children of the institution and appreciated the efforts made by the teachers of the school to put up such an excellent cultural show that would strengthen the bond between teachers and students and inculcate strong values among them.
Justice A.L. Bahri appreciated that KBDAV-7 has taken a lead among all public schools to celebrate Teachers’ Day in such a unique manner. He highly appreciated the efforts and hard work put in by the staff members under the headship of Principal Madhu Bahl who had prepared a spectacular show in such a short span of time.
The whole programme ended with a Grand Finale on a patriotic song with a message of love for the country in the hearts of the students for long.
Principal declared 5th September 2011 (Monday) as a holiday after a successful celebration of the grand show.
