Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Jhanjeri, Mohall celebrated Teachers Day honoring the best teachers for their excellent performance during the previous year. Twelve teachers were awarded commendation certificates and cash prizes of Rs. 5100/- each. These teachers include Raman Panthey, Shyana Girdhar, Parampal Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Charu Mehta, Ashish Kumar, Neayti Thakur, Rupinder Kaur, Jasneet Chawla, Ramandeep Sandhu, K.L. Verma & Shilpa Jamwal. These teachers made marvelous contribution towards the growth of the institute & its students in addition to obtaining above 90% results in PTU exams. To make the function more lively, a cultural programme was also presented in which students presented skits, poems & songs in praise of their teachers.
Speaking on the occasion, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC congratulated the teachers & the students. He announced that laptops will be given to the students who top the PTU exams & all other students appearing in the Merit Lists of PTU will be given cash prizes of Rs. 5000/- each. Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General, CGC said that the present enviable status of CGC in the society is due to the efforts made by its teachers & the students. He added that everyone in CGC, Jhanjeri is eagerly waiting for the Merit Lists of PTU. Dr. Bansal is confident that more than half the total number of students in the Merit Lists of PTU will be from CGC, Jhanjeri alone.
