CHANDIGARH, MAY 25: On the directions of Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister Punjab, Special teams of the Education Department conducted surprise checks in 795 Schools of the State with the aim of ensuring punctuality and discipline in the Schools. All districts were visited by the special teams at the same time.
Divulging the details a spokesperson of the department said that during the special checking of 795 schools total 84 teachers were found absent while 143 teachers were late whereas 50 teachers were found long time absentees. He said that the long time absentee teachers would be chargsheeted. The Spokesman said that to maintain discipline and punctuality in the Government Schools special and surprise checking would continue in future also. The Minister also directed to the senior officers that 100 percent attendance of the teachers would be ensured.
