Mohali, April 7 : “Eat healthy say no to junk food,” & “Eat Healthy and Stay Healthy” was the motto of the day at Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, Mohali.
While Celebration of World Health Day the Dietician of Chetinya Hospital, Sec 44, Chandigarh visited the Shemrock School and spread the awareness to Eat healthy food for living healthy life.
A Dietician, briefed the students the importance of balanced diet and good eating habits among children .He also emphasised on the importance of proper sleeping patterns and daily routine among children.
He spoke about the harmful effects of junk food which causes obesity and laid stress on importance of outdoor activities and encouraged students to do physical activities which helps in being healthy and sharpen the brain as well.
While speaking on this occasion Principal Admiral Mr. Sharma spoke on the theme of the day. He said that healthy minds lives in healthy body and it is of paramount important that children of a country should always stay healthy for development. He motivated the students to inculcate healthy eating habits in their retune and stay healthy.
Dieticians of Chetinya hospital also tested lunch boxes of the students and gave first, second and third prize to healthiest lunch boxes. Apart from that certificates were also given to children with healthy lunch boxes
Doctor answered the queries of students and cleared doubts to make them hale and hearty. Routine checkup of every Shemrock kid was also conducted and a detailed report was handed over to the parents. At this seminar, a quiz and poster-making competitions were also held.
