Chandigarh August 18: The Punjab government has revised the pensions / family pensions of college teachers and equivalent cadres in college with effect from January 1, 2006.
According to a spokesman of the government, the revision of pensions would be based on the implementation of the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission revision of pre 1-1-2006 pensioners/family pensioners/recipient of extra ordinary pension etc. A notification in this regard has also been issues, he added.
Revised pension/family pension based on Pay Band, Grade Pay & Initial Pay of teachers & equivalent cadres in colleges in the state with effect from January 1, 2006 corresponding to the pre revised pay scales.

Note: Pension shown in column 6 is for maximum qualifying service of 33 years in case of pensioners, where qualifying service is less than 33 years. The pension shown in column 6 shall be reduced pro-rata.

Giving details of the revised pension structure, the spokesman said that it would be based on Pay Band, Grade Pay and Initial Pay of teachers and equivalent cadres in colleges in the State with effect from January 1, 2006, corresponding to the pre- revised pay scales.
