By Ankur Vadhera CHANDIGARH Day 1 of PECfest 2012 saw scores of people from various colleges from the region coming and taking part in various contests and competitions.
A sports quiz, “70 MM” the movie quiz, and Guess Who, on Day 1 of fest were delight for both movie and sports lovers. The day saw students showcasing their artistic talents in Crotchet – solo singing competition and “Rangmanch” –stage play competition and Comedy King –stand- up comedy competition.
The fest also had literary events like Cross-Swords – conventional debate, JAM sessions, Wordict – word puzzle, spell bee and much more.The highlight of the day were a colourful and vibrant events like Face painting , Graffiti and Mug painting. The treasure hunt was a hit among the students this afternoon as one could see the adrenaline rush among the students seeking for clues to get the treasure.Couple cricket was full of fun, watching girls trying to play cricket throwing their bats on every ball.
“The industry today seeks Knowledge , talent and attitude ,among its candidates while students gain knowledge in their classrooms they develop the right attitude for executing the tasks in outside the classroom events like- PECfest” said Dr. Manoj Dutta, Director of PEC university of Technology.
Groovz – the Group Dance Competition witnessed participation from various colleges across the region. The mega event Glitterati was a huge crowd puller. Many young designers and beautiful models walked the ramp with appealing outfits. The view of students roaring and appreciating the participants was hypnotizing and a delight for ears and eyes.
The day 1 ended with a promise of bringing more fun and excitement for the coming days.
