Chandigarh : The Department of Sanskrit, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh today organized its Inter-University Declamation Contest-cum-Annual Function with various Sanskrit competitions and Lectures on the theme “Sanskrit in contemporary era”. The function was presided over by renowned Sanskrit Scholar Prof. Ramakant Angirasa and Prof. Vikram Kumar was the Chief Guest. The valedictory function on the retirement of Prof. Vikram Kumar was also organized.
Chairperson, Sanskrit Department Prof. Shankarji Jha proposed the vote of thanks. Scholars present on the occasion and taking part in deliberations included Prof. V.K. Alankar (Department of Sanskrit, PU, Chandigarh), Prof. S.K.
