CHANDIGARH-August 3, 2013 : Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh’s Boys Hostel-I today organized a cleanliness drive in and around the hostel premises.
The drive was initiated by the Dean Student Welfare (DSW), Prof. Navdeep Goyal. Besides the Chief of University Security Prof. Anil Monga, and Wardens of all the Boys Hostels, a number of students also participated in the drive.
The drive was successfully conducted by the Hostel Warden Dr. Jaskaran Singh with the help of volunteer residents, office staff and mess and canteen staff and has got an overwhelming support from the PU authorities. Prof. Anil Monga, Chief of University Security and Wardens of all the Boys Hostels motivated the participants for taking part in this cleanliness drive.
The basic motive of this drive was to create awareness amongst the residents particularly the new comers for maintaining cleanliness in the campus. The volunteer resident students also took the pledge for making efforts and spread awareness to keep the campus plastic free. Further, the DSW and the Wardens decided to continue with this kind of drive in the campus.
