June 5, 2008: On the occasion of Environment Day the Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Prof. R.C. Sobti inaugurated the photography exhibition at Student Centre.
The photographs by Mr. Navtej Singh, Micrographer at Panjab University highlighting the local and migratory birds from north India were displayed. The birds, flowers, scenes were clicked from Himachal Pradesh, Garhwal, Punjab and Haryana.
The photographs by Jeesu Jaskanwar Singh, lecturer highlighted theme of reducing carbon rot print. The photograph from various mountain biking expeditions, landscapes from Gulmarg, Srinagar, Uttrakhand/Uttranchal and few picture related to pollution were also exhibited on the occasion.
The Vice-Chancellor lauded the photographer and announced that the photography exhibition will continue for the next 15 days at P.U. Campus. He also stressed that tourism courses and photography will be encouraged and motivated by the Panjab University.
