CHANDIGARH: 28.3.2008: The methods of conducting research form a vital component of teaching and learning at an academic institute engaged in the generation of knowledge. These methods are constantly being polished for producing better quality research work at an institute of the stature of Panjab University, which is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee Year of existence.In this connection, a one-day seminar is being organized by Department of Geography, Panjab University on ‘Research Methodology in Social Sciences’ on 29 March 2008 under the XI Plan-UGC-Merged Scheme for ‘Faculty Improvement Program’. The major purpose of the seminar is to acquaint the participants with recent developments/improvements in the field of research methodology.
The seminar will be inaugurated by Professor S.K. Kulkarni, DUI, at the ICSSR Complex (Seminar Hall II) Panjab University at 10.30 am. Professor GS Gosal, Professor Emeritus, Department of Geography, Panjab University shall preside over the function and Professor SL Sharma, former Dean, Faulty of Arts, Panjab University will deliver the keynote address. The participants shall have the benefit of the knowledge of a galaxy of eminent scholars.The valedictory address shall be delivered by Professor RC Chandna, former Chairperson, Department of Geography, Panjab University with Professor BS
