To commemorate 100 years of Ghadar Party 1913-2013, an exhibition of books/documents and other material related to the Ghadar Movement was organized in the AC Joshi Library on 5th March, 2014. The Ghadar Party was an organization of patriotic and progressive Indians living abroad working for the emancipation of India from the yoke of British colonialism. This exhibition aims to educate the youth to understand the sacrifice of the martyrs and their role in the struggle for freedom. The exhibition also makes an endeavour to create awareness among the masses through our rich archival heritage.
The Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University Prof. AK Grover inaugurated the exhibition. Dr. Raj Kumar, Panjab University Librarian took the initiative to organize the exhibition in collaboration with the National Archives of India, New Delhi . The exhibition is a part of the International Seminar on the Ghadar movement being organized by Dr. Indu Banga, to be inaugurated by Prof. Irfan Habib from AMU, Aligarh.
