Chandigarh : Chitkara University, Punjab, conferred an “Excellence Award in Academics, Research and Innovation” on Professor Bhupinder Singh Bhoop, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, for his stellar contribution in pharmaceutical education, research and scientific innovation. The award was bestowed upon Professor Bhoop on 26th February during the Inaugural Function of two-day Symposium on Pharma Innovation at Chitkara University Campus, Banur.
On this occasion, Professor Bhoop also enthused the audience by delivering the Inaugural Keynote Address on the topic, “From Conceptuation to Commercialization using Pharma Innovation“. The Award included a plaque, a robe of honour and a cash prize.
Globally renowned for his research work on QbD-enabled development of drug delivery systems, Professor Bhoop has to his credit 252 publications in peer-reviewed journals with H-index of 29 along, 12 books and 48 book chapters. He has handled 15 research projects and guided/guiding 24 Ph.D.’s, three post-doctorates and 53 M.Pharm scholars. He has duly trained over a thousand of industrial scientists under his guidance through deliberations at various onsite industrial training seminars, workshops, conferences and scientific forums. He has also been instrumental in filing 4 patents and tech. transfers of two nanostructured drug delivery technologies to the industry.
Besides being the Chairman of UIPS, Professor Bhoop has also been serving as the Founder Coordinator of Interdisciplinary UGC Centre for Excellence in Nano Biomedical Applications. He has also served as the Dean Alumni Relations (2007-2011), Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (2011-13) and has been serving as the University Fellow (2012-16), Panjab University, Chandigarh.
