CHANDIGARH-July 26, 2011: Dr. Purva Kansal, Assistant Professor, a Marketing and Strategic Management Faculty at University Business School, Panjab University, was awarded with the “Best Professor in Marketing” in CMO Asia Awards 2011 at Suntec Singapore on July 22, 2011. CMO Asia awards are set of awards given by the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council, a U.S.-based organization dedicated toward connecting marketers at a common platform. The CMO Asia is dedicated to high level knowledge Exchange through Leadership & Networking amongst senior CMOs and brand decision makers across industry segments. Dr. Purva holds a MBA and Ph.D. in International Marketing Strategy area. The jury, comprising international experts, awarded this award for her contributions in marketing, which included research projects with Baylor University Texas on succession planning in Family Businesses, her work as a Indian Adapter on Strategic Management book by Thomas S. Wheelen and J. David Hunger published by Pearson Education Inc., two other Indian adaptations and co-authored books in marketing and multiple national and international articles in marketing. Her major research interests are in Strategic Management, Marketing of services, Advertising and International Marketing Strategy. Currently, she is researching on the “succession planning in Family Businesses across India, USA and Canada” with Colleagues from Baylor University Texas, USA.
