CHANDIGARH: 25.3.2008: In the continuation of tree plantation drive, the Panjab University Campus Students’ Council today planted 150 Chakratia
saplings at the space along the wall near UIET building, Southern Campus, Sector-25, PU, Chandigarh. Prof. R.C. Sobti, Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Tejpal Singh Cheema, President, PUSU, Mr. Parminder Jaswal, President, PUCSC, faculty members and students of UIET were present on the occasion. In a big drive, 300 saplings of Neem and Asoka are planted on 23.3.2008 on both of the campuses of the University in Sector-14 & 25. It has been planned asannounced by the Vice-Chancellor, 1000 more samplings will be planted in a week’s time or so to make the campuses of the University greener and moreeco-friendly to ensure pollution free environment which has become a need of the hour in view of the global warming threat, according to Dean Student Welfare, PU.
