MCM DAV College, an institute pioneering in providing holistic education and acclaimed for its ceaseless endeavors to reinforce innovative envisioning and an indefatigable determination to accomplish something au courant devotes the sixth day of the NSS camp to health and hygiene The workshop was a laudable forum to put forth the knowledge required for extracting the maximum benefits from nature in our everyday life.
Giving an impetus to the health and hygiene promotion enterprise of MCM DAV College, the day began with a cognizant lecture on skin care through natural resources by Mrs. Saravjeet Kaur of cosmetology department, MCM DAV College. She impinged upon the benefits of moving back to nature and following our traditions of naturopathy; cleansing and balancing using the five elements of nature. The symposium progressed further with sentient presentation on “Food as a friend and a Foe” by Dr. Geeta Mehra, Assistant Professor, MCM DAV College, deliberating on food a s a nourishing source of energy when consumed in a balanced proportion providing vitality and vigor, while the same can act adversely if cooked inappropriately or eaten in wrong proportions, combinations and time.
The volunteers showcased great perception and enthusiasm in the following interactive session. They further relayed the knowledge gained by educating the residents of the adopted village, Badheri, to reap the maximum advantage from food and nature to replenish their health.
