Higher Education Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma chaired a meeting of departmental advisory committee here today. It was informed at the meeting that one faculty each in six government universities at Bhopal, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Gwalior, Indore and Rewa will be developed as Model Faculty. While lauding online admission and examinations and declaration of semester results, the member MLAs stressed the need for more effective arrangements during the current academic session.
The faculties to be developed as Model Faculties include Biotech/Bio-informatics of Barkatullah University Bhopal, Life Science of Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur, Pharmacy of Vikram University, Ujjain, Management of Jiwaji University, Gwalior, Electronic Media of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore and Environmental Biology Faculty of Avdhesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa. It was informed at the meeting that implementation on action plan for smart class has been started in 100 colleges. Smart classes will commence from January.
Higher Education Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma directed to make necessary amendments in recruitment rules for filling up vacancies in the department within a month. He also directed that colleges to be established in future should be started for commerce classes. Information regarding World Bank-sponsored Higher Education Improvement Project was also given at the meeting.
MLAs Shri Girija Shankar Sharma and Shri Laxman Tiwari were present at the meeting. Secretary Higher Education Shri J.N. Kansotiya gave information regarding departmental activities.
