The Higher Education Department has issued directives pertaining to amendment in the semester system to vice-chancellors of all the universities and principals of colleges in the state. Evaluation centres for districts will be established either at the level of leading colleges or regional centres. At these centres, evaluation will be undertaken by professors in the presence of supervisors appointed by universities.
Commissioner Higher Education has given instructions to chalk out a practicable action plan for adopting semester system for private students in place of annual examinations. University-level exams will be held for private students with 100 marks. Internal evaluation of only regular students will be undertaken. Fifteen percent marks have been fixed for internal evaluation.
Instructions have also been given to undertake all the works in time including starting the process of online admission from 2012-13 session by utilizing university management system or any other modern technique upto declaration of results. It has been instructed that all the colleges should coordinate in such a way that exam schedule for 2012-13 session remains the same. Syllabus and academic calendar will be made available to students at the time of admission.
