With Diwali celebrations round the corner, on 22nd October 2011 morning, the Tagore Theatre auditorium embarked with extra energy when the enthusiastic KBDAVians performed excellently a high-tech light and sound 3 hours live stage show depicting Epic Scenes from Ramayana amidst the cheers of school parents and students.
The Chief Guest of the Day, Dr. Mrs. Nisha Peshin, Director (PS-II), DAV CMC, New Delhi marked the beginning of this rich religious bonanza – ‘Ram Leela’ by lighting the lamp. She said, “It is remarkable and unique endeavor on Principal Madhu Bahl’s part to present such a grand show of “Ram Lila” carrying the message of love, sacrifice and respect to elders indeed seen missing in todays’ time.”
To grace the occasion other dignitaries present were Mr. Justice A.L. Bahri, Vice President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi; Dr. R.S. Khandpur, Director General, Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala; Dr. Subhash Marriya, Regional Director, DAV Public Schools, UP Zone & Manager of the School; Mr. S.K. Sharma, Additional Commissioner, Excise & Taxation, Haryana; Mr. Arun Walia, Senior Advocate General, Haryana; Dr. Mrs. Satinder Dhillon, Director, Divya Shiksha Gurukul College of Education, Derabassi; Mrs. Rani Sharma, Social Activist, Principals from other DAV Institutions and Parents of school.
School Principal in her welcome note said, the school is committed to imbibe good values among the students and organizes such functions from time to time depicting rich Indian Religious Heritage. She said, “Dramatization of such timeless epics at school level can inculcate an unleashing power in the hearts & minds of the young students to become obedient & contended citizens of the world.”
Playing the role of Ravana, the confident Himanshu, studying in Class X says, “This is a life time opportunity given to me at this age and I am at my best to reveal the role which I feel is the most powerful one.”
Enthralled Saurav playing the role of Lakshamana says, “Honestly speaking earlier either we had read or seen parts of Ramayana on TV but actually performing live on stage is virtually imbibing good thoughts and values in ourselves.”
Lord Rama known as the paragon of virtues with magnanimous personality was a role played by ‘Nischay’ of Class X, who captivated the audience with his charismatic personality.
The whole show was directed by Sunil Sharma from Sourav Arts and Assistant Directors Kartar Ghai and Rajesh Chauhan under the supervision of School Principal Mrs. Madhu Bahl.
In short, Indian Epic Ramayana undoubtedly the most popular and timeless epic read and loved by all was in all praise by the audience with the message for all – “The Victory of Good Over Evil”.
The function concluded with Vote of Thanks and left an undying impression on the minds of audience who left the auditorium with a message of devotion, unity and family roles
