Kurukshetra,Dec.13- The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell of Kurukshetra University organized a workshop on patent filing for unique research output for the faculty of the university here today in the Dept of Microbiology. Mr. Rahul Taneja, scientist and expert of Patent Information Centre Dept. of Science & Technology, Haryana Panchkula sensitized the researchers about the basic principles of IPR, patentability, patenting system in the world including India.
To boost research and inventions among scholars, it is necessary to understand the procedures, costs and time taken in filing and getting the patent told the nodal officer IPR Cell Professor M.M. Goel. He made a case for the simplification of the procedures, reducing the time and fees for getting the research patented online in India
It is believed that the scholars of Kurukshetra University stand motivated to file the patents in times to come. The workshop concluded with a brain storming session with gaining knowledge of different patent filing options.
Earlier Dr.(Ms) Neelam, Chairperson, Dept. of Microbiology welcomed and introduced the speakers to the more than 60 participants of the workshop.
