Chandigarh : Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector 31, Chandigarh celebrated its Annual Function with great zest and zeal. Mrs Kumud Singh, President AFWWA(L) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The function commenced with lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest followed by Saraswati Vandana . After the formal welcome and welcome song the Principal Mrs. S K Bhatia, presented Annual Report highlighting the glorious achievements of the Vidyalaya in scholastic and non-scholastic fields at different levels. She also thanked Mrs Kumud Singh, President AFWWA(L) other members of AFWWA(L) for providing valuable guidance time to time .The students, who scored the meritorious positions in academic and co-curricular activities were awarded prizes by Mrs. Kumud Singh, President AFWWA(L). It was followed by fun and frolic and a riot of colours as children of the Vidyalaya presented cultural items. Colours blended with synchronized body movements giving rise to a host of spectacular drills and dances that kept the audience spellbound. Mesmerizing performance, excellent choreography and resounding music created a visual and audio treat for the audience. Welcome song by tiny tots enthralled the audience. The Kalbaelia Dance and Barbie Dance from Primary Section and the Bhangra Dance and Sikkim Dance from Secondary Section were great entertainers.
The Chief Guest in her address congratulated the Principal, Staff and the Students while acknowledging the meritorious services rendered by the Vidyalaya. She urged the students to work hard for preserving the environment, obey and respect their teachers and parents. The function ended with singing of National Anthem.
