Jammu: The Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) today protest demonstration against the administration of Central University of Jammu (CUJ) for its failure to start construction work on the campus, besides appointment of incompetent/ overage officers on key positions in the administration.
The protesting led by Amit Kumar President JYF, criticized the working of Central University Vice-Chancellor and also to show there resentment against Central University of Jammu authorities are putting each and every effort for absorbing their kiths and kins in the campus and no check accountability in functioning of Central University Jammu.
President JYF said it was shocking that the Vice-Chancellor has appointed Professor N.R.Sharma as first Dean Students Welfare (DSW) of the varsity who has been over-aged retired professor. The post of DSW is an administrator. As per the Central University Statutes, DSW officer should not be above 62 years but the VC has recruited Professor N.R.Sharma as DSW who is above 65years,” he said. In the process, all deserved candidates were ignored.
He further said the varsity has become a rehabilitation center for retired and corrupt officials. He also said that favoritism galore in the Central University of Jammu. Leaving aside the appointment of over-aged persons as faculty members, the family members and the relatives of the varsity officials have been appointed on coveted posts in utter violation of University Statutes. As per the Central University Statutes, the serving officials should not be above 65 years but the administration has recruited some teachers who are above 65years,” he said. In the process, all deserved candidates were ignored.
He said that the CUJ administration was ignoring the youth of Jammu region in jobs and jobs are being awarded to non-Jammuties thereby the CUJ, V-C was playing with the emotions and sentiments of Jammuties
He added that such kind of unethical activities must be stopped by the authorities otherwise JYF will stage a protest in front of the Chancellor residence very soon.
Among those who were present in the protest included,Sanjay Sharma, Rohit Gupta, Kapil Sharma, Anees Charak, Sanjeev Kumar, Rajan Kumar, Javed, and others.
