Jammu, Nov.26: Sangarsh – A Movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood today held a protest demonstration and extended its full support to Jammu University Teachers Association (JUTA) against the baseless, ridiculous and irrelevant elevation of Dr. Meenakshi Kilam to the status next to the vice Chancellor as so called super power status in the Campus shattering the status of Dean Academic Affairs, Registrar, Controller Examinations and other officials of the convention nature across all the universities in the country.
Sangarshi’s stressed that for last six months they are highlighting the defunct nature and functioning of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). They said IQAC which is the statutory body and was formed to raise the quality of teaching and infrastructure of Jammu University has always remained the money grabbing cell.
Sangarshi’s claimed for the last six months they were saying that there is no procedure and whereabouts regarding the amount of money being collected by the IQAC from more than seventy thousands students enrolled with the university including Degree Colleges, Private Colleges, B.Ed. Colleges, DDE Students and Regular Students of University of Jammu.
Sangarshi’s claimed that they were constantly saying about the judicial probe into the working of IQAC and within the mushrooming of B.Ed. Colleges and the reasons why, on what grounds and with what parameters Prof. Amitabh Mattoo has appointed the inefficient person who was lecturer till 2004 rose to become a reader in march 2004 and elevated in the grade of professor in September 2005 and further promoted member syndicate in 2006 and another key position as Director Colleges Development (DCD) in 2007 and now the latest super power status has raised many questions that Prof. Mattoo may take long years to define and to convince they added.
Sangarshi’s appealed to the Chancellor to immediately intervene and set up a judicial inquiry into the working of IQAC and DCD and immediate suspension of the irrelevant and baseless order.
Those who were present in the protest includes : Mr. Ranjeet Sharma, Department Representative, Department of Sociology, Mr Sunil Sharma, Research Scholar, Department of Mathematics, Mr. Krishan Dev Singh, Department Representative, CSRS, Mr. Ashok Singh, Research Scholar, Department of Urdu, Mr. Jasbir Singh, Mr. Munish Mahajan, Mr. Vikrant Sharma, Mr. Jameel Kalis, Mr. Naresh Kumar and others.
