Jagpreet Sandhu ,Chandigarh, December 10, 2011 : NSS units of Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36- B, Chandigarh, celebrated International Animal Rights Day and World Human Rights Day on saturday to sensitize the prospective teachers towards creating empathetic feelings for each other and join hands to curb cruelty and to protect animals .
The programme commenced with students delivering speeches, poems and an essay writing competition was held where students freely expressed their views and thoughts on Human and Animal Rights. NSS volunteer Tanvi Saini shared her enlightening views on Human and Animal Rights.
Dr. (Mrs.) Jyoti Khanna, Principal, addressed the pupil teachers to practise human dignity which is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world and to adopt vegetarianism and to be kind towards animals. She also aroused consciousness amongst the pupil teachers to realise their responsibilities and duties.
The celebrations concluded with a pledge administered by Chandni, NSS volunteer.
