Chandigarh : It was a day full of joy, fun, enjoyment and revelry as the Anees School celebrated Holi- a festival of colours & love, with great enthusiasm. The toddlers and their teachers participated in the festival with full zest and fervour.
The children sang the Holi Rhyme (DUM DUM DUM, Holi Has Come..) with excitement throughout the colour week (different colors on different days). The excitement was palpable and was evident in all the students as they were really enthusiastic about the celebration. The legend of the victory of Prahlad over Holika was enacted by teachers of the school. Children danced on the beat of dhol. There was a lot of music, dancing and colour splashing as children had fun with ‘pichkaris’ and colours.
Children came to school all dressed up in white. They played Holi with their peers. All the kids played with dry non-toxic skin friendly colours (Gulal). Children hugged each other, and put gulal on each other’s face saying ‘Holi Mubarak!’ Special care was given to kids who are not so fond of colors. The air reverberated with Holi songs. They were treated with delicacies specially prepared for the day – Gujia.
At the end the Director Mr. Aneet Goel gave message to all students to play Holi with eco-friendly dry colours only & hug each other and not to throw balloons on passerby. He also explained significance of Holi and the importance of colours in one’s life to kids sss.
