July 25, 2019 : Kargil Martyred families of Haryana will be honored on the occasion of the ‘Kargil Vijay Divas’ to commemorate 20th anniversary of Kargil war in Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar on Friday. Seventy four great soldiers sacrificed their lives in the Kargil war from Haryana. The University is organizing this programme jointly with Haryana Academy of History and Culture, Kurukshetra and Jammu Kashmir Study Centre, Haryana Circle in Ch. Ranbir Singh Auditorium.
Colonel Yogendra Singh will grace the occasion as key note speaker. Prof. Raghvendra Tanwar, Haryana Academy of History and Culture, Kurukshetra will also be present.
Prof. Tankwshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University told that Kargil Vijay Divas is a great day to salute the Indian forces. He said that it is our social and moral responsibility to honor the martyr families because their beloved have made their highest sacrifices to give their lives.
An exhibition of arms related to the first and second Kargil war will be displayed by the Indian Army in the programme. In addition, a special exhibition will also be displayed by the Haryana Academy of History and Culture which includes the military traditions of Haryana. A documentary related to the Kargil war will also be presented during the programme.
A meeting in this regard was held in the Committee Room of the Vice- Chancellor office, in which the preparations of the ceremony were finalized. Dr. Pardeep, Vice-President, Jammu Kashmir Study Centre, Haryana Circle, Dr. Jagdish, Dr. Surender, Dr. Mahender Singh, Coordinator of the programme, Dr. Narender, Co-Convener and Prof. R. Baskar, Prof. Sandeep Rana, Pratap Singh Malik, Dr. Rajiv, Dr. Anil Bhankhar, Dr. Vikas Verma, Dr. Kuldeep, Satyapal Singh, Dinesh Chugh and Bijender Dahiya were present.
