Today various competitions were organized at Govt College of Education. To develop the different teaching skills and potentiality of prospective teachers, these competitions were organized in the college premises. The competitions which were aimed at improving the teaching skills of prospective teachers were organized in the categories of Skill in Teaching, Teaching Aids Preparation and Chalk Board Writing. Home Science and Fine Arts related competitions like rangoli, alpana, still life painting, clay modeling, salad dressing and flower arrangement were also organized.
Ninety eight students participated in Teaching aids Preparation both working and still models, Eighty in Skill in Teaching, Thirty in Power point presentation preparation, One hundred and twenty in chalk board writing and almost thirty students in fine arts and home science competitions.
Principal Dr. Harsh Batra interacted with pupil teachers participating in all the categories and motivated them. She emphasized that competition is part of every culture and since education should transmit culture, it is necessary to incorporate competition into education to help students and teachers get used to it in their educational and professional pursuits.
These competitions are the regular feature of the college and are organized once a year.
