Chandigarh , November 6, 2015 : Students and Staff Stepping Stones CBSE International with the objective of inculcating healthy eating habits, organised a “Food Festival” on Nov 6, 2015 in which students of Class 3 to 6 participated.
Exercise and eating right are two of the best ways to ensure a long and healthy life. Stepping Stones CBSE International lays emphasis on students learning the importance of developing those healthy habits.
All the students contributed as a group in bringing /cooking mouth watering, delicious dishes representing the North, South, East and Western India, Chinese, Italian, Street Food to different types of healthy chats, Sweets etc.
The students participated with great enthusiasm and at the same time got to understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy food / eating habits. Furthermore, education was also given in relation to the need to supplement fibre in our diet.
Speaking on the occasion, director academics Mr. Sunil Kumar said, “Teaching children why it is important to eat healthy is something that needs to be encouraged, along with the importance of healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, dairy products into their everyday diet. I think it’s important to start off at such an early age, especially with these kids, because the sooner you introduce healthy habits, like eating healthy and exercise in their lives, the more likely they are going to continue doing it as they grow older,”
