Chandigarh, September 26; Tomorrow, i.e. on September 27th, Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister, Govt. of India & Kirron Kher, MP will honour five tricity Principals at a programme jointly organized by Yuvsatta, KB DAV Sr. Sec. Public School, RGNIYD (Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development), State Cell-NSS & Dr. GC Mishra Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust, Chandigarh following five teachers will be honoured by ‘Peace Awards’ for the year 2013-14;

2. Sr. Maria Swati A.C., Principal, Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, Chandigarh.
3. Smt. Raj Bala, Principal, Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 37D, Chandigarh
4. Mr. Krit Serai, Principal, Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula
5. Mrs. Rosy Sharma, Principal, DAV Public Sr. Sec. School, SAS Nagar (Mohali)
Giving information of the initiative Pramod Sharma, Coordinator, Yuvsatta shared that these awards are presented every year in recognition of services rendered to inculcate and imbibe the seeds of education, ahimsa (nonviolence), truth, service and love for humanity in young minds. He further added that they have formed Peace Clubs in over 100 Schools of tricity, where many teachers & Principals are doing a lot to keep them active and vibrant.
Madhu Bahl, Principal & Regional Director added that its very inspiring to know that Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister is especially coming to honour the distinguished teachers of the tricity, which shows his commitment and concern for the youth. And he specially agree to meet and interact with over national and international youth of over 30 countries who’ll be at their School on the occasion of a welcome cultural evening of delegates of 9th International Youth Peace Fest in Chandigarh.
