Chandigarh : A Fire Safety mock drill was organized for the faculty and students of Govt. Sr. Secondary School Sector 37C, Chandigarh at the school premises. This drill was arranged by the School Management Committee. The Principal Ms Jaswinder Kaur was the Chief Guest and Mr R K Maudgil, President, Senior Citizen Association, Sector 37 was the Guest of Honors in this programme. Mr Gobind Singh, Chairperson of the School Management Committee also graced the occasion.
Mr Baljinder Singh, Fire Officer, told the students about the measures to be taken in the eventuality of fire. He illustrated the various types of the fires and precautions to be taken in case of fire in the building or house etc. The officers and the Fire Team demonstrated how to rescue the fire victims from the spot of fire by giving mock demo how to bring the person from the building in case someone is fractured, Unconscious and injured. In case of dense fire how to enter in the room in which all the approaches are closed. The Fire Safety Offices wore the Anti Fire Safety Suit and entered the room.
The Officer showed demo through the HPTTL Hydraulic Plateform Turning Table Ladder which can approach the skyscraper building in case of fire. It can go upto 150ft high and at move around. This is used to rescue the persons from roof tops and has no other way to go out from fire victim building. This demo was seen by the students as well faulty enthusiastically.
The students of Bharat Scouts and Guides and NSS Volunteers took special training from the Fire Safety Officer during the Demo. The Principal extended her gracious thanks to the Fire Safety team & Department and the School Management Committee.
