Under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, the children of deprived community have been admitted on cent percent 1831 seats in Singarauli district. It may be mentioned that the Right to Education Act is being implemented in the State from this academic session.
As per privisions of the Act, 25 percent seats have been reserved for the children of weaker sections in government-recognized private schools for free admission.The district collector Shri P. Narhari launched a campaign to ensure the admission of children of deprived community against 25 percent reserved seats in 225 private schools in the district. In order to implement the act, the district administration was in constant contact with principals of private schools and held discussions regarding the Act. Following proper follow up and constant monitoring regarding implementation of the Act, cent-percent children were admitted against 25 percent reserved seats in the district till July 20.
