Bhopal:Tuesday, January 10 : Dress code will be implemented for improving discipline and work culture in the state’s universities. Higher Education Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma gave this instruction while reviewing the activities of Devi Ahilya University, Indore here today in the context of complaints about presence of unwanted people on the university premises. He said that due to dress code and name plaque, identity of officers and employees will be explicit and entry of unwanted persons will be prevented. It will also increase discipline. University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajkamal, Commissioner Higher Education and other officers attended the meeting.
Regional centres at Jhabua and Khargone
The Higher Education Minister instructed to open regional centres of the university at Jhabua and Khargone to facilitate students. The centres will be equipped with the facilities through which students’ university-related problems will be solved.
Universities to have common setup
A common setup is being prepared by the government for rationalisation of posts in the universities. This setup will be uniform in all the universities and requirement and availability of posts will be rationalised according to it.
Special audit to be made
A special audit of Devi Ahilya University’s records of last three years will be made. E-tendering system will be implemented. Existing tendering procedure will be examined. Arrangements of central purchase system will be made. Higher Education Minister Shri Sharma said that transparency should be ensured in contracts for purchases and construction works.
