Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor Desh Bhagat University & Chairman, Desh Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes & Chairman, Desh Bhagat Radio has been presented with ‘Punjab Ratan Award’. The award has been conferred by ‘The All India Conference of Intellectuals an NGO’ at an impressive ceremony held in Chandigarh.
Election Commissioner of India, H S Brahma, Lt. Gen. K.M. Seth, former Governor, Chhattishgarh & Justice Rajesh Tandon, Member Human Rights, U.K. presented the award to Dr Zora Singh, who is honored for his contribution to the field of Education. Shri Anil Joshi, Cabinet Minister for industry & technical education, Punjab along with Dr Zora Singh and a lot more were honored in the award function. The Function was attended by distinguished intellectuals from all walks of life including former Retd Judges, Vice Chancellors, bureaucrats & social workers.
While presenting award to Dr Zora Singh, Chief Guest H.S. Bhrama said that contribution of Dr Singh to the state as well as towards India is remarkable and the future generations will continue to get inspiration from the life, sincerity and commitment of personalities like him.
While receiving award Dr Zora Singh thanked the NGO for recognition of his services in field of Education. Speaking on the occasion Dr Singh said,” I am humbled & overwhelmed by this award & it will further motivate me to work for the society irrespective of caste, creed, religion & region to make Punjab as the knowledge hub & India a nation of the literates.
Members of organizing committee said “We feel extremely glad to be able to organize such an event. It’s an honor to bring so many personalities together at one stage. We will organize such functions every year”.
