Chandigarh, 27 Nov ; Doon International School, Sector 69, celebrated their 10th Founder’s Day ‘A Nuance of Ecstasy’ 2014, with great exuberance and gusto in Tagore Theatre. The function was illuminated with the august presence of Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister. The program commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp to invoke the blessing of almighty. The theatre put on a festive look with students depicting a concoction of varied hues. Rendition of Ganesh Vandana, a psalm of ecstasy, was followed by Student Council Members reading out the Annual Report. The cultural program comprised of the theme of ‘Nav Ras’, an addition to the glory of life, depicted by Students in colorful and elaborate costumes displaying their talent and potential through lively and energetic dances on the stage. A patriotic qawaali titled ‘Shama –e-watan’ was followed by a heart rending play based on Post Partition sufferings and trauma the people underwent at that time. It portrayed the humans, that in spite of all conflicts, they understood the conditions and rendered help to each other thereby embracing the human life.
The students were honored with prizes for reaching the pinnacles of glory with their diligence and devotion, by the Education Minister, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema . The prize distribution was followed sharing pearls of his wisdom with the students by Chief Guest Cheema.
The show stealer was the scintillating Bhangra performance by the senior students unleashing the unique cultural heritage of Punjab. While appreciating the efforts of students and teachers Director,Doon School C.S. Mann said that Sky is not the limit. The youth of today must explore the heights beyond sky if they want their dreams to be true in such a competitive world.
