Panchkula, December 26: The three-day Founders Day celebrations of Dikshant International School began today with the inauguration of ‘Mars Exhibition’ by Mr N.K Sharma, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Government of Punjab at Indradhanush Auditorium, Sector 5 here.
The exhibition, which is on till Saturday has 13 models on display with information and posters displaying all information about the important missions of Mars, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, Mars Climate Orbiter, Mars Polar Lander, Viking Orbiter and Landers.
Also displayed are models and information about Mars Pathfinder, Mars
The exhibition covers the beginning from 1965, when the first Mission to Mars was sent to the most recent Mangalyaan the India’s Mars mission launched on 5th November from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. A working model of Curiosity rover was the highlight with a background created of Mars pictures and a Mars terrain created along with it.
Mr N.K Sharma while speaking on the occasion said, “I am very impressed by the exhibition on Mars, and it clearly reflects on the awareness about the space science and high level of confidence in the students.”
Mr Mitul Dikshit, Director, Dikshant International School while briefing about the three-day celebrations said, “On the first day we have the exhibition, which is a wonderful exposure for children. On the second day will be a cultural fiesta by junior wing of the school and the concluding day will be an adaptation of Kamleshwar’s award winning novel ‘Kitne Pakistan’ which will be staged by 350 students of the school.”
