Doaba Institute of Engineering and Technology (DIET) – a unit of the Doaba Group of Colleges – has been selected for the Schneider Electric India Foundation scholarships. DIET is among the 12 institutes selected for the scholarship in the region.
Director General DGC, Professor Daljit Singh, informed that this prestigious scholarship, valued at over INR 2 lakhs per student, provides for the full tuition fee of selected students for the entire degree course. Eligible students must meet minimum specified academic standards. Male applicants with annual income less than INR 2.5 lakhs are eligible; for female applicants, the income limit is raised to INR 4.5 lakhs.
The scholarship is given to deserving students pursuing their 2nd year engineering programme in the following streams – Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science and Information Technology. The scholarship is sponsored by the Schneider Electric India Foundation. Schneider Electric is a global energy corporation with operation in more than 100 countries, and an annual turnover of over 22 billion Euros. Mr. S S Sangha, Managing Vice Chairman and Mr. Manjit Singh, Executive Vice Chairman of the group, congratulated the DIET faculty and students for earning this distinction.
