Desh Bhagat University School of Engineering and ACE Club organised an annual technical cum cultural event ‘Esparanza-13’. The objective of this progrmme was to bring out the hidden talents of the students, channelise their energies, make them aware of the social evils and highlight the rich Punjabi Culture. The event was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. S.S. Chahal. More than 300 students from various disciplines M.Tech, MCA, B.Tech, BCA, M.Sc., B.Sc., B.Sc. (IT) and diploma classes took part in this event.
Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Shalini Gupta while welcoming the students, who are joining Desh Bhagat University for the first time, inspired them to work hard and purse their studies with full commitment and dedication. She told the students that Desh Bhagat University is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities of education and training and by making best use of these facilities; they can achieve any heights in life.
The ‘Esparanza-13’ event was divided into two streams namely: technical events and non-technical events. The technical competitions included, Paper Presentation, Quiz, Spy-C, Match Mania (C++), Project Display and Web Designing. Non technical events comprised Face Painting, Rangoli, Mehandi, Poster Making; students also participated in singing dancing, mimicry and short play competitions. The winners of these events were Kiran, Shivani, Shavri and Navneet Kaur. The team comprising Ashish, Ajay, Dhanvir and Gurpreet secured first place in LAN Gaming.
The fashion event Glamour-ACE was the main attraction of the event. Students presented their own creations on the ramp. The highlight of the event was ‘Kaun Banega Aaj ka Engineer’ played on the line of the serial KBC. That was truly liked by one and all. The event was a treat for all was highly appreciated. Director University School of Engineering, Dr. J.K. Chawla, Controller Examination Dr. I.S. Sethi, Registrar Dr. Virinder Singh and directors of different university schools were also present on this occasion.
