Desh Bhagat University organised a guest lecture on ‘Make in India and Made in India – Ideas and Implications’ to enhance the knowledge of students about country’s glorious history and to make them proud of it. The key note speaker on this occasion was in-charge of Swadeshi Jagran Manch, (North and Central India) Sh Satish Ji. While speaking on the occasion, he talked about the golden era of our country. He said that once our country was called Golden Sparrow, but the invaders took advantage of our peaceful nature and harmed our country badly. Today, India is facing a lot of challenges on several fronts, and to tackle these situations, all Indians should be united and there should be a spirit in everyone to do something for the country so that we may build a strong nation. We have lots of reasons to be proud as Indians have contributed and are still contributing in the progress of the world.
University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh welcomed the learned speaker and all the guests. While addressing the students, he said that it’s the responsibility of every citizen, especially the youth, to contribute to the nation building task so that we may make India a Developed country. University Vice Chancellor Dr. Shalini Gupta talked about the historical success of the country’s Mars Orbit Mission. She said that every Indian should be proud that the ‘Mangalyan’ was made and launched with indigenous technology by our scientists. Special Guest, Dr. Subhash Sharma (Director, Center for Economic Policy Research) said that the objective of Central Government’s ‘Made in India & Make in India’ initiative is to unite the citizens and to make our country’s economy stronger.
Mr. Vinod Rishi, (Punjab in-charge, Swadeshi Jagran Manch) exhorted the students to use country made things, which will go in favour of country’s economy and domestic business as well. Mr. Lalit and Mr. Rohit Joshi (Ludhiana Unit) encouraged the students to think and dream big. They also gave the examples of our brave warriors. At the end of the programme, the university Registrar Dr. Virinder Singh, thanked the learned speaker and guests, hoping that it will prove quite encouraging for the students and faculty members. The students evinced a keen interest in the lecture and asked relevant questions. They thanked the university officials for arranging such a knowledgeable programme and said that this has boosted their morale to do big for the country.
