Chandigarh, May 2: Today, student members of Sohanjana Eco Club of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-46D, Chandigarh along with Yuvsatta and Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration observed a‘Conserve Water- Save Fuel Day’ in the School.
Giving information about the programme Sohanjana Eco Club Incharge, Mrs. Baljinder Kaur shared that a painting competition was organised on the topic- ‘Save Water & Fuel For Future Generation’. The students gave way to their imaginations and creativity and suggested need to conserve water & fuel through their paintings. A green quiz was also organised in which students was asked questions related to conservation of water as it is very precious for life to sustain on this planet. The students answered the questions enthusiastically.
In the morning assembly of the School, Manish and Nitansh both students of Class-IX expressed their view on water conservation and urged the students to conserve water in their own little ways. A pledge to save water and use it judiciously was also taken by the students.
Pramod Sharma of Yuvsatta motivated the students to conserve every drop of water. School Principal, Mrs. Sudesh Raghav gave away the prizes to the winners of the green quiz and painting competition. She said that students should motivate others as well to conserve environment as little efforts can also bring about big changes.
In the end Principal Sudesh Raghav administered a pledge to save and conserve water to over 2000 School students.
