Chandigarh, March 31- A College of Dairy Science and Technology will be established under Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in district Hisar of Haryana. Every year, about 250 students will pass out of the college with B.Tech in Dairy Technology. NABARD has sanctioned a loan of Rs 112.60 crore to Haryana Government for construction of this College.
While stating this today, an official spokesman said that the college would facilitate creation of trained manpower which could provide veterinary care and breeding facilities to livestock efficiently. It will also help in better marketing of dairy products through improved dairy technology, he added.
He said that livestock sector in Haryana is the most vibrant contributor to agriculture sector as well as the state economy. The aim of project is to give impetus to animal husbandry sector and make an enduring contribution to social justice and equality by improving the living standards of rural households in the state.
NABARD has sanctioned the loan of Rs 112.60 crore under 20th tranche of RIDF (Rural Infrastructure Development Fund) for the construction of this College, he added.
