Annual function of Chaitanya Nursery school was organized in the college auditorium. Mrs. Ninette Vas E. Sharma, w/o The Advisor Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The principal of the college Mrs. Madhu Nanda welcomed the chief guest who lighted the inaugural lamp. The backdrop and the entire décor depicted the theme of the function – ‘Colours’. The program began with Sarswati Vandana.
‘ Chalo chalaye rango ki rail’ by Chaitanya Nursery Children brought smiles to the audience. This was followed by a solo performance ‘Dance Cry Cry’ by Vidhi spreading happiness to one and all. The students of M.Sc. HDFR II Semester rocked in a jungle show with animated ‘Kolaveri’; the animals expressions were applauded by the parents in the audience while all clapped to the beats. Dance ‘Bhomroo’ by Yogita only put all to tap their feet along with her. Another performance ‘Gubarre wala aaya’ by Chaitanya Nursery Children selling colourful balloons the tiny tots followed with a narration connecting the theme to the various shades of life and accepting it as it comes, with smile.
Kathputli Dance charmed the children and parents who also applauded the rhyme ‘Bura na deakho’ by Chaitanya Nursery Children. ‘Chutti hai’ by the tiny tots was full of fun and the parents loved to the their wards perform in a thrilled manner. The elegant soft taps by the rainbow girls in fluorescent skirts of the spectrum was the highlight of the show who performed on popular jingles and rhymes. All the students from pre-nursery, nursery performed on the stage. The faculty of the department headed by and the students from Undergraduate and Post graduate courses contributed in a handsome teamwork that was so appreciated by the Chief Guest. In her speech she congratulated the college, Chaitanya team and faculty to have organized a spectacular show.
She in specific appreciated the girls dominating everything in the show, leaving a message to welcome the girl child and let her blossom giving some real life examples. Dr. Suman Verma, Head of the department presented vote of thanks. All the children were encouraged by offering a prize for participation.
