DRIT Group along with SBI Banur Organized today blood donation campaign that saw the College ‘s students and staff line up at the center set up for this purpose in cooperation with concerned with the department of transfusion Medicine PGIMER, Chandigarh. The facility was equipped with all technical requirements to render the process a success. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Madhur Anand Regional Manager SBI regional business office Chandigarh
The event has got huge push by Mr. M.K Mahajan Chairman Dr IT group.As per his words the effort is meant to encourage students to meet their responsibilities as good citizens and to be active participants in the extra-curricular activities, especially those of humanitarian and social nature.
Managing Director Prof .P.P.Arya, said, such events are a form of extending support to humanitarian organizations and charities. It is a service to the society to provide blood to those who are in distress need. This is our fifth blood donation Camp. Prof Arya along with, Dr Sunanda Ghosh, Principle Dr IT, Col Anil Kumar Principle Dr IT polytechnic inspired the staff and students’ positive response to the campaign, citing the high turnout at the donation center in a bid to meet the increasing demand on donated blood.
The response was tremendous a total of seventy five units of Blood were collected at a camp. Slogans like “Be Proud to be a Donor”, “No one shall die for want of Blood” were displayed at prominent places throughout the College and on notice boards which resulted in this overwhelming response from employees and others associated with it. The event also see people from nearby village who donated blood. The event witnessed the presence of other staff members from SBI along with Mr Srivastana Chief Manager SBI Regional business office Chandigarh
