By Jagpreet Sandhu ,New Delhi, Febuary 11 : Delhi University’s Bharti College and ANI School of Media Studies have joined hands to popularize media education and training and make it accessible to all. Looking at the wider scope of jobs in the ever-expanding media industry, the Bharti College has tied up with the media school of ANI, India’s only multi-media news agency.
In this initiative, two separate courses in TV and online journalism will be run to educate students in the premises of Bharti College in Janakpuri. The classes of these two courses will be conducted for three-days in a week, in the afternoon hours.
The main thrust of these courses will be on practical. “The best approach to educate students in any stream of media is through practical training. This is what we have been focusing on in Bharti College”, said Surinder Gosain, Director of ANI School of Media Education. He added that ANI School of Media studies would also be assisting students in their search for jobs after their three months of training.
“In order to maintain standard and quality of the courses, we have kept limited number of seats in both the courses. The courses are open for students of Bharti College as well as outsiders”, said Dr. Promodini Varma, Principal of the Bharti College. The admissions are open to students on first-come-first-served basis, besides assessment of candidates. “We are receiving good response from students as there is enough awareness among them about the importance of these media courses”, added Dr. Varma.
To get details on these courses, students can get in touch with the principal’s office at Bharti College or contact Mrs. Poonam Khosla at 011-43273030.
